Traditional cortijo in the Sierra Nevada parque natural the renovation of which was featured in Living Spain magazine.

This is a beautifully reformed cortijo with a moorish style. The property is situated about 15 minutes drive above Mecina Bombaron in the high Alpujarras.

The cortijo is stone built and is situated over two levels on a sloping hillside with the most spectacular views over the Sierra Nevada Parque Natural.

Entry is into the kitchen which is in the original style of the area and has a wood burning range cooker (HERGON) and a window overlooking the front of the property.

Leading from the kitchen is the bathroom with full size bath and shower over.

An archway leads into the sitting room which has windows to the south and east and has a woodburning fire. The seating is purpose built and has cushions over to give two sofa sized seating areas with storage underneath, these units can also double up as beds for any extra guests.

A staircase leads to the upper level where there are two double bedrooms, one leading from the other. There are french windows allowing access to the roof and this could be railed and used as a roof terrace.

The property has been finished with a coarse plaster finish in keeping with the area and has terracotta floors throughout.

The cortijo has solar power with a generator for back up on the darker days this equipment is all situated in the store room/log store at the back of the property which is large and spacious and could be changed to further accomodation if required.

Close to the house an area has been excavated for a pool to be installed, permission would need to be applied for but this has been given verbally.

There is also a laundry room which houses both the washing machine and gas fridge.

This property has an abundance of water with its own spring and also water from the stream running alongside of the property. The land is very fertile even at this altitude 1,500m a wide variety of fruits grow, Cherries, Sweet Chestnuts, Apples, Grapes, Pears, Apricots, Peaches and an abundance of wild watercress along the banks of the stream.
