Two beautiful moorish style cortijos owned by a Barcelona based artist.
These two properties have been lovingly restored by the owner over a period of twenty years one is the family home and the other is used as a guest house for visiting family and friends. This second property could be used to produce an income for the owners fom holiday rentals.
Both of the properties have masses of moorish style. Entry into the principal cortijo leads to a hallway and into the principal salon 7m x 4m which has an open fireplace, beams and traditional features. Leading from the salon are three bedrooms 3m x 4m x 2 and 3m x 3m with french windows to the front of the property and views to the countryside beyond.
A door leading from the salon into an inner hallway offers access to a large bathroom and to the upper floor bedroom 5m x 3m which has a room leading from it currently used as a storeroom but could be converted to a bathroom ensuite. There is a french door leading to the roof of the lower rooms of the cortijo but if this was strengthened it would make a wonderful roof terrace with panoramic south facing views over countryside.
Returning to the main entrance hall a staircase leads to the lower level here there is a traditional kitchen and also a cosy snug seating area with fireplace with bread oven. There is a small cave pantry leading from here which is imaginative and keeps things wonderfully cool all year.
A doorway leads from the kitchen to the terrace at the front of the property where there are shady cushioned areas to allow you to wile away those hot summer days, there is also a laundry room.
The cortijos have lovely views to the barranco and the mountain beyond. There is an era (threshing circle) and some lovely flat terraces. There is a large room to the right of the terrace door which requires a little more renovation but could provide a further bedroom ensuite, or a lovely studio.
To the left of the terrace door is a small pathway leading to the other cortijo La Majorana which has three olive terrace to the front. There is a traditional alpujarran style kitchen with a lovely large window and a dining area.
The salon is large and has a traditional open log burning fireplace and access to the internal patio, a door leads from here to a bedroom which has a lovely round window looking into the internal courtyard.
A staircase leads to the upper floor where there is a furthewr large bedroom with a roof terrace off. and a dressing room area.
From the salon there is a french window to the outdoor bathroom and storeroom. There are further buildings included in the sale which are need of reform.
This is a unique property, in a very peaceful setting, so if you are looking for a traditional cortijo with business potential then this could be the one for you.
