A lot of potential in this wonderfully situated rural property to
create substantial family accommodation in an isolated mountain
setting.
Most
of the details of this property are fairly self evident insofar
as it is set in the most superb hilltop location in a quiet mountain
valley and the three adjacent properties (which although ruined
are currently registered as houses and hence could be restored and
used as houses even though they are in a state of total ruin and
will need completely rebuilding.
What
is probably not evident are several other important aspects of the
sale.
Looking
at the general view of the property, not all of the houses seen
in the picture are the property of the vendors. The newer white
house in the background is not included - it is the remaining ruins
in front and to the right. The connection for the mains water is
by this newer white house so the connection charges are not going
to be very high. Added to this is the fact that mains electricity
is scheduled to be brought to nearby property and so it is highly
likely that mains will become available for connection.
The
access to the property is the reason we have chosen to call this
property isolated rather than simply rural. There is a long dirt
track of some 3km or more which descends a hillside, crosses a small
river and then climbs up and around the opposite hillside to reach
the farm. So the suitability of this property really does depend
on your like or dislike of off-road driving. The vendors of the
property actually live in the neighbouring farm so you won't be
totally isolated but it is the truth that in living here, you won't
be "popping out" for a pint of milk.
From
the farm your nearest town for shops and amenities is around 20
- 25 minutes - mostly off-road and the nearest International airport
is going to be close to 2 hours drive although when Granada airport
gains its planned International status in 2005 or early 2006, the
journey will be more like 80 minutes.
However,
if you're looking for a spot that is guaranteed to remain pristine
unspoiled countryside which offers some unparalleled views of the
Sierra Nevada and has enough space to be able to create either a
huge family home or some sort of rurally based retreat or workshops,
then for the price this property really is extremely good value
in today's market.
