The major part (but not all) of a traditional rural cortijo (farmhouse),
this part-ruined and partly habitable property, with outbuilding
and further ruins, is an excellent project for anyone looking for
a farm with land within reasonable distance of Cádiar.
The
main part of the building can be seen in the photograph above and
covers 166m² of the area quoted above. It is a two storey building
with a number of rooms and ruined rooms distributed over each floor.
There is mains water on site although not actually connected to
the property and with no prior installation of water there are currently
no waste water facilities, thus it would require installation of
a septic tank or soakaway
With
a newer built single storey building of 100m² adjacent and
with the potential to improve and expand this building, the property
as a whole could provide extensive accommodation for several family
members or guests.
There
are around 3 hectares of 'secano' i.e. non-irrigated land available
with the sale which is currently planted with Almonds and Figs.
With its location on the top of the Sierra de la Contraviesa, there
is not only marvellous peace and quiet but also some superb views
to be gained. The highest mountains in mainland Spain can be seen
and with their winter caps of snow make an impressive backdrop to
the gentle rolling hillsides with their almonds and grapevines.
At
around 20 minutes drive from Cádiar with the final 3km on
unmade dirt road - perfectly passable in a standard saloon, this
is a good renovation prospect.
